Personal Tax Associate


Personal tax associate role has come about due to expansion. This growing firm of chartered accountants is looking for an experienced Tax Associate who is either ATT qualified or qualified by experience.



The role will have plenty of variety and you will be managing your own portfolio of clients as well as managing the firms personal tax compliance process.


Main Duties

  • Preparation of individual and trust self-assessment tax returns
  • Dealing with HMRC enquiries, penalty notices etc
  • Managing your own portfolio of clients and relationships
  • Advising on day to day tax queries such as PAYE codes, tax efficient company cars etc
  • Supporting the Tax Directors with tax planning for high net worth individuals
  • Preparation of forms P11D
  • Providing technical assistance to accounts team members
  • Providing tax technical assistance to payroll team and assisting in payroll processing as necessary


Key Skills

  • IT literate – familiarity with Microsoft is required, experience of IRIS is ideal but not essential
  • You must have good communication skills and an ability to deliver work on time
  • A willingness to learn new skills will assist you in the role

Part Qualified Accountant


The successful applicant would join Gopsall Services as an AAT or ACCA/ACA Part Qualified or Finalist, Associate Accountant. Study support provided.


Key Skills

  • Ability to complete analytical reviews and produce Balance Sheet reconciliations with detailed supporting backing schedules 
  • IT literate - familiarity with Sage, Xero and Iris is preferable
  • Being a strong team player is essential
  • A skills set allowing you to deal with client queries, communicate effectively and provide exceptional client service
  • Audit experience preferred or a desire to enhance/learn audit skills
  • Minimum of 12 months practice experience
  • Working towards AAT/ACA/ACCA

Main Duties 

  • Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLP’s and Limited companies
  • Liaising with clients and answering basic queries
  • Assisting with the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns and dealing with HMRC
  • Assisting with audit assignments
  • Providing support to colleagues and other miscellaneous duties, as needed
